Honeymooning in the Blue paradise...

This becomes my first post after wedding... !! It was almost two months of brainstorming on choosing the HONEYMOON destination and then we picked MALDIVES.. Kurumba resort was definitely a luxurious retreat in blue paradise..Firstly we chose Kurumba for it's price.. the cute intelligent bride wanted to have a long honeymoon to rip her smart groom's pocket! lol I would say the first sign of wedding (being broke) has already started.. trust me resorts are pricey..Kurumba is the first resort and is in closest proximity to the airport..So that was like a ten minute speed boat ride.. We arrived around 11pm, the reception area was spacious with comfortable sofas and water canals around.. This gives a refreshing environment.. we had a very warm welcome.. Tasted the yummiest coconut ice cream.. Our rooms were decorated with flowers.. all so perfect for a dream honeymoon.. Our rooms overlooked the beautiful indian ocean..My husband was not really a beach guy.. but the minute we opened the patio door, yes we fell in love with the turquoise blue heaven.. You just pop into the blue waters within five steps.. Morning we had a small tour around the resort.. The main restaurant Vihamana has a  huge spread of food for breakfast..really yummy.. There are other specialty restaurants which are serving different types of cuisines in Kurumba Resort (Grill, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indian & Arabic) which makes Kurumba Resort is paradise of fine dining in Maldives. The beach bar is the jewel of the night entertainment of the Resort, where most night time can be spent under the sky or the moon light with live entertainment changes daily and enjoying the favorite drinks and snacks. The area of the bar and the seating arrangements are super in luxury with cane style furniture and comfortable cushions. The Balinese type chairs creates enjoying romantic atmosphere for the couples. Not to mention their complimentary candlelight dinner, a private dining in the beach. The resort also offered some snorkelling classes followed by a home reef snorkelling tour.. I swear my hydrophobic husband fell in love with the nemo fishes n the crystal clear waters.. there were even times were i had to pull him out of it.. The home reef was beautiful.. so colorful and varied.. we happened to see nemo fishes, big sharks, baby sharks and even sting rays.. Sting rays were a little scary..!! Home reefs were so beautiful that I didn't notice my husband wasn't snorkeling with me (well, he was drowning a little and was calling for help)!!The resort also offers some cruise ~ Dolphin cruise - where you go see the dolphins in wild waters.. and the most beautiful sunset of all times..thats about USD60 per head but it's worth it..!!! Those who are prone to sea sickness, you can still have the best views of sunset from the sandbar.. You get complimetary fruits salads and you can also watch a live band, few dancing, few building castles.. so it's definitely worth a sight..! Those who manage to get up early in the morning you can watch the beautiful sunrise in the other side of the resort.. There are a number of water sports to indulge in.. For those who aren't ready to dive in to the water, you have the glass bottom boat.. though I really would prefer it. Everyone get to taste the sweetest Kurumba's (coconut) in the world.. It's the cheapest drink that one can buy in the resort.. cheaper than WATER!! After ten days of stay , we made a couple of good friends there..  The management is the most friendliest bunch of people i have ever met..So helpful, smiling, super super friendly and down to earth. This is one place on earth where you can live with nature..The expensive long honeymoon was so blissful and awesome!

P.S: 1. It is expensive! coz you have govt tax added on to everything you spend!! (so budget fixed + 50% =         actual money spent)
       2. Every penny spent on this paradise is PRICELESS!!
       3. Thanks to my loving n most caring husband for loving me in spite of making you broke ;)
